The maize-based snacks are intended for toddlers aged 12 months and up

Ella’s Kitchen has launched a duo of snacks for tots in partnership with the RSPB.

Billed as “healthier alternatives to many popular snacks found outside the babyfood aisle”, Butterfly & Bug Puffs (rsp: £2.75/80g) are maize-based snacks intended for toddlers over the age of 12 months.

Low in fat, salt and sugar, the snacks are available in Summer Fruits, flavoured with dried strawberry, apple and raspberry; and Garden Veg, flavoured with dried sweetcorn, tomato and carrot.

Ella’s Kitchen will donate 5p from every pack sold to the RSPB, which will use the money to protect natural habitats. Each pack features a QR code that redirects shoppers to an online hub of activities and nature facts, intended for toddlers and their parents to enjoy.

They have rolled into Morrisons and Ocado and will be on shelves for 12 months.

Ella’s Kitchen entered its long-term partnership with the RSPB in 2023, simultaneously setting a target to protect and restore 30 million sq ft (278 hectares) of UK wildflower meadows and grassland by 2030.

“We know families today are looking for products that deliver great value, are convenient and have real purpose behind them,” said Ella’s Kitchen global head of impact Chris Jenkins.

“That’s why this launch is such an exciting extension of our partnership with the RSPB,” Jenkins added.
