Fairfax Meadow’s range for Brakes includes beef, lamb, pork, chicken and veal

Catering butcher Fairfax Meadow has launched into Brakes with a 30-strong product range.

With both companies owned by Sysco – following Fairfax Meadow’s acquisition by the distributor last year – Brakes said it would strengthen its fresh meat offer by adding a specialist capability from within the group.

The range covers beef, lamb, pork, chicken and veal, and is led by Fairfax Meadow’s Casterbridge beef, which is produced from PGI West Country cattle and aged for a minimum of 21 days.

It also offers selected cuts that have been dry aged in Himalayan salt chambers to deepen flavour and improve tenderness, Fairfax added.

The business also brings heritage, BRCGS‑certified sites, traceability and a multi‑species range that sits naturally alongside the Sysco tiered brands, while giving Brakes customers the convenience of “one order, one delivery and one invoice”.

“The Fairfax Meadow products are a brilliant addition to Brakes’ fresh meat range,” said Sysco GB merchandising director David Cole. “Being part of Sysco means we can bring together the strengths of our sister companies in a way that really benefits customers.

“Fairfax Meadow has a long track record of quality and consistency, and now chefs can access that expertise through Brakes with the simplicity they already know. It is another step forward in building a fresh offer that helps kitchens deliver great plates of food every day.”

The initial range of 30 products is expected to expand over the coming year.
