At The Grocer we are always keen to show that our readers are leading the way when it comes to innovation, creativity and satisfying consumer needs.
So you will notice we get involved in schemes that put the spotlight on and reward those who are at the forefront in such areas. We do this through running our own awards or tying up with partners who have the same dedication to recognising the best in the food and drink industry as we do.
It's therefore pleasing when the recipients of such accolades contact us. Since we announced the winners of the 11 creative categories in the GRAMIAs - the Grocery Advertising and Marketing Industry Awards - last week we have received many expressions of delight from companies, tempered naturally with some disappointments. We repeat the list of this year's creative winners on p16 this week and in October the Golden GRAMIA winners will be revealed as well as the Agency of the Year awards.
Vicky Bhogal, winner of the chilled food category in our inaugural Own Label Excellence Awards this year, talks about her business and walking away with the prize in our comment this week (p24). This has already become a prestigious award to win and on p37 we launch this year's competition.
Finally, next month Dairy Crest and The Grocer announce the national winners of this year's Retail Cheese Awards.
It all just goes to remind us what a dynamic industry this is.
