Freixenet Solare

The 11% abv tipple is designed to be served alongside Freixenet sparkling wine and sparkling water, garnished with a slice of lemon

Spanish winemaker Freixenet is to launch a new Mediterranean-inspired aperitivo in the UK.

Freixenet Solare is made with Spanish lemon, clementine and rosemary, and balanced with a blend of botanicals for a “refined, refreshing taste”.

Bottles will land on Amazon from next month (rsp: £17/70cl), with ready-to-drink cans launching in Morrisons from October (rsp: £3/250ml).

Freixenet Solare had been created to “complement today’s growing appetite for lighter, refreshing aperitif serves”, according to the supplier.

The 11% abv tipple is designed to be served alongside Freixenet sparkling wine and sparkling water, garnished with a slice of lemon.

“UK consumers are increasingly embracing lighter, refreshing serves, and Solare has been created to capture that growing demand,” said Dani Buckley, Freixenet global marketing controller. “Combining our expertise in sparkling wine with vibrant Mediterranean-inspired flavours and natural botanicals, it offers a premium spritz experience that’s perfect for everything from casual get-togethers to summer celebrations.

“We’re excited to see UK shoppers discover Freixenet Solare and enjoy a new way to experience the taste of the Mediterranean.”

Other suppliers to have launched their own spritz serves in recent months include Gordon’s, Funkin Cocktails and Squealing Pig.
