Furniss Foods, which makes biscuits and other baked products has been put up for sale by receivers at KPMG.

Founded in 1886, the Cornwall-based company has an annual turnover of £5.5m and supplies the snack food sector and branded goods for the tourist gift market, as well as industrial ingredients for the dairy industry.

The company has a workforce of 150 at its Redruth site.
