The new sauces contain natural ingredients and no added sugar

Heinz has added a trio of pasta sauces designed for family meals.

Creamy Tomato & Cheese; Tomato & Basil Margherita Sauce; and Tomato & Garlic Marinara Sauce (rsp: £3/490g) are in Sainsbury’s and Iceland, with a wider rollout planned in spring.

They contain natural ingredients and no added sugar, with “smooth textures and approachable flavours tailored to children’s palates”.

The sauces were designed to make mealtimes easier for busy households, said Heinz.

They built on the success of Heinz’s recent partnership with Mr Men & Little Miss to launch Mr Ridiculously Good’s Smooth Bolognese Sauce, it added.

“Family mealtimes can be a juggling act, so we wanted to create a range that genuinely makes life easier (and tastier) for parents while still delivering the quality they expect from Heinz,” said Aditi Hilgers, head of taste elevation at Kraft Heinz.

“It’s all about giving families a simple, delicious way to get dinner on the table with ingredients to feel good about.”

Mr Ridiculously Good’s Smooth Bolognese Sauce hit shelves in July, containing three “hidden” vegetables – onion, celery and carrot – with 100% natural ingredients and no added sugar.

Jars feature an illustration of Mr Ridiculously Good, who is described as a “tomato-fuelled spin on the existing character” Mr Good, devised by Heinz and Mr Men & Little Miss. He had his own book launch in September.
