Itsu has expanded its soup dumplings range with three variants, including Thai-Style Prawn

Itsu has expanded its soup dumplings lineup and added a duo of “restaurant-style” bao sliders.

Following the “viral success” of its chicken soup dumplings, which launched in October, Itsu has added Thai-Style Prawn, Aromatic Duck and Spicy Chicken.

Each pack (rsp: £3/168g) contains six frozen dumplings, which can be microwaved, steamed in the bag or fried.

The range will launch into Morrisons on 18 August, followed by Tesco, Ocado and Amazon Fresh over the coming weeks.

“Following the viral success of our first-ever soup dumplings launch, it was clear our consumers were hungry for more,” said Itsu brand manager Cleo Gorringe.

“We can’t wait to see how the internet tops them with their favourite sauces, herbs and more,” Gorringe added.

Itsu has also added a duo of pre-filled bao buns (rsp: £3/165g) in Chicken and Prawn.

Packs include three bao buns and “taco-style trays to allow for customisation”.

Like the dumplings, they can be steamed in pack “for ultimate convenience”.

They will roll into Tesco on 26 August, followed by Ocado and Amazon Fresh on 8 September.

Bao Sliders (rsp: £3/165g) will debut in Chicken and Prawn

The bao sliders were developed with “a focus on format and eating experience”, said Itsu product controller Giorgio Finocchio.

“The bespoke tray design allows each bao to be topped and enjoyed with ease, while the in-pack steaming bag keeps the texture fluffy and light.”

Both launches will be supported by social media campaigns, aimed to “inspire shoppers” to customise the products. The soup dumplings will also be supported by trade and in-store media.
