JJ Foodservice has gained 300 new customers thanks to its new TikTok Shop channel.
It comes after the wholesaler launched a pilot in July, which it described as being “the first shop of its kind in UK foodservice wholesale”.
JJ Foodservice said it had since established a new source of revenue and customer acquisition, with the latter spanning UK households and hospitality businesses.
The business said its top five best-selling products were Frozen Superior Beef Burgers, Fresh Tomahawk Steak, Frozen Premium Fresh Water King Prawns, Fresh Chicken Breast Fillets, and Tabaki Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Customers have responded positively to the range, according to the wholesaler, with products sold achieving a 93% five-star rating and a 100% two-day delivery success rate.
The shop currently offers more than 30 best-selling products with no minimum spend, helping more people discover JJ’s growing range for both home and professional kitchens. It fulfils TikTok Shop orders through its own multi-temperature delivery network, with products picked, packed and delivered by JJ’s team.
The wholesaler added that it was doing more activity with suppliers, including a live stream focused on household hygiene and chemical cleaning on Wednesday (14 October) to launch its new £50 P&G Pro Cleaning Box. It will be taking place at its new Nottingham branch which opened recently.
In the run up to Christmas, JJ Foodservice will be growing the range available on the platform to help families with festive food and party ideas.
“We wanted to bring our restaurant-quality products to more businesses and homes through TikTok Shop, one of the world’s fastest-growing e-commerce channels,” said JJ Foodservice head of communications Elit Rowland.
“TikTok started as a way to showcase our ingredients to new audiences, and it has quickly become a valuable route to new business, reaching everyone from home cooks to restaurateurs. We are proud to be the first UK wholesaler to fulfil TikTok Shop orders through our own multi-temperature delivery network.”
