Food delivery platform Just Eat has partnered with on-demand dry cleaning service Laundryheap so users can book a clothes clean through the app.

The new service allows customers to book ‘wash & fold’ and dry cleaning directly through the Just Eat app, with their garments collected by Laundryheap couriers and returned refreshed within 24 hours.

It marks Just Eat’s first service-based offer and the first time a laundry service has been integrated into a mainstream convenience app.

“Our partnership with Laundryheap is another step in our ambition to become the UK’s go-to convenience platform,” said Caroline Bates, grocery and new verticals director at Just Eat UK. “Customers already turn to Just Eat for dinner, groceries and everyday essentials, and now they can book laundry collections through the same app, giving them one less thing to think about.”

The exclusive partnership has launched initially in London and will expand to Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh within the next six months.

The deal is a marketplace partnership – orders and return slots are booked through the Just Eat app, with collection and delivery completed by Laundryheap’s delivery network.

Customers place items for cleaning into disposable bags, which are collected by a Laundryheap driver and taken for cleaning within two hours of the order being placed, or at a time selected by users. The following morning, they will receive an SMS with tracking information about the return delivery of their clean clothes. Collection and delivery is free, though customers pay Just Eat’s service fee.

“Summer often means busy diaries and busier wardrobes. Whether you’ve cycled into work on one of the hottest days of the year, have a week’s worth of shirts waiting to be washed, or need your wedding outfit professionally cleaned before the next celebration, we’re making it even easier to get everyday jobs done,” Bates added.

Laundryheap was founded in 2014, and the company now operates in more than 60 cities across 17 countries, including the UK, UAE, US, Singapore, Netherlands and France.

The company has served more than 400,000 customers globally and processed over 110 million items, with 465,000 orders processed in the past year alone.

“Our goal at Laundryheap is simple: to make busy lives easier,” said Deyan Dimitrov, founder and CEO at Laundryheap.

“We want to give people more time to do the things they love by taking one of life’s most tedious chores off their hands. That’s why we’re absolutely thrilled to partner with Just Eat on its mission to redefine everyday convenience. Now Brits will be able to order dinner and get their dry cleaning done all in the very same app, delivered straight to their door. Laundry has quite literally never been easier.”
