Popped Corn Cakes provide 7.8g of fibre per three-cake serving

Kallø has launched a six-strong range of Popped Corn Cakes, targeting consumers seeking clean label alternatives to ultra-processed sweet snacks.

Inspired by cinema popcorn flavours, the lineup comprises: Cinnamon, Caramel, Buttery Toffee, Sweet & Salty; Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt; and Dark Chocolate with Salted Caramel. Each pack contains 13 corn cakes.

The HFSS-compliant snacks provide 7.8g of fibre per three-cake serving and contain no preservatives, artificial colours or flavours. They are made with “clean, natural ingredients” and are also gluten-free.

The new offer was developed in response to “growing demand for snacks that deliver natural goodness, great taste and added benefits, without feeling restrictive,” said Kallø owner Ecotone.

Popped Corn Cakes were a “natural choice for healthier snacking”, offering shoppers an “alternative to ultra-processed sweet treats”, it added.

The range will launch in Waitrose this month and Tesco from August (rsp: £2.75/125g).

“This is Ecotone’s biggest-ever product launch and reflects how consumer attitudes to snacking are evolving,” said Caroline Mitchell, Kallø brand controller at Ecotone UK.

“Shoppers are increasingly looking for balance in their diets, combining healthier choices with permissible treats rather than adopting an all-or-nothing approach.”

Mitchell added: “With growing interest in clean-label products, ultra-processed food avoidance and snacks made from natural ingredients, we believe they provide the perfect evening treat that satisfies sweet cravings while helping consumers feel good about their choices.”

It isn’t the first time Kallø has responded to consumer pushback against ultra-processed foods. In 2025, the brand launched a range of “clean label” broths as shoppers sought simpler ingredients in the stocks category.
