Kellanova MD Chris Silcock is leaving the snack giant after seven years, following Mars’ acquisition of the business in December.
In a statement released this morning, Kellanova said Silcock had decided to “move on” from the business. “He departs with our sincerest appreciation for his valuable contribution, and we wish him well in the future,” a Kellanova spokeswoman said.
Dean O’Brien has been appointed interim MD, stepping up from his role as UK GM of Kellanova, a position to which he was promoted in January.
O’Brien joined Kellogg’s over 14 years ago and has since held senior roles including senior marketing director and senior revenue growth management director.
In a LinkedIn post, Silcock said: “Today marks the end of a very special chapter with Kellanova. Building an amazing culture has been the key to achieving outstanding results.
“I know that the team will continue to take the business to greater heights as part of the next phase with Mars.”
His departure comes after Mars completed its $36bn acquisition of Kellanova in December, bringing brands including Pringles, Cheez-It, Pop-Tarts and former Kellogg’s non-US cereals under Mars Snacking.
In 2024, Kellanova confirmed plans to close its Trafford Park cereal plant by late 2026, leaving its Wrexham site as its only remaining manufacturing facility in the UK.
