Kingsland Drinks MD Sarah Baldwin described the past few years as ‘challenging times for the drinks industry and for Kingsland’

Manchester-based drinks business Kingsland Drinks Group has landed a £65m funding package from Barclays, following a year of falling sales and profits.

The funds – secured with the support of audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK – would enable Kingsland to “continue its ambitious growth journey” as well as “unlocking new opportunities for future investment,” the supplier said in a statement.

It comes after revenues at Kingsland Drinks fell by 10.6% to £268m in the year ended 30 June 2025.

Profits before tax, meanwhile, crashed 98.3% to just £31k, driven by a £1m fall in operating profit and a £200k hit from fair‑value adjustments made on foreign exchange contracts.

“The past few years have seen some challenging times for the drinks industry and for Kingsland,” said Kingsland Drinks MD Sarah Baldwin. “We’re now moving into a phase of evolving the core business and securing long-term development opportunities.

“This funding will help secure an exciting future for the business as a pioneering force in the drinks industry, built on strong community roots where our people, heritage and quality continue to set us apart.”

Fiona Parkes, relationship director at Barclays Corporate, added: “We are pleased to support Kingsland with a £65m asset-based lending facility that provides enhanced working capital flexibility and supports the company’s ongoing growth plans.

“As an employee‑owned organisation entering its next phase of development, Kingsland represents a strong new client relationship for Barclays, and we look forward to supporting the business.”

Kingsland Drinks is an independent contract packer, bottler, distributor and creator of wine, spirits, and low & no-alcohol products.

Its portfolio of owned brands includes Mix Up RTD cocktails, Pod Pea Vodka and the Spanish wine brand Campaneo.

Last year, it appointed former Purity Soft Drinks CEO Sarah Baldwin as its managing director.
