Kids’ food brand Little Dish has unveiled a trio of frozen meals.
Based on the brand’s most popular chilled meals, frozen Chicken Tikka, Spaghetti Bolognese and Cottage Pie offered parents “another healthy and convenient way to make mealtimes easier”, said Little Dish.
Containing at least one of a child’s recommended 5-a-day, while being low in salt with no added sugar, they were “perfectly portioned and nutritionally balanced for one- to three-year-olds and great for bigger kids with a side of veggies”, it added.
They will roll into Sainsbury’s freezers on 17 November (rsp: £2.75/250g).
“Parents no longer want to rely on the high sugar, heat treated pouches and jars found in the baby aisle, so they’re looking for healthy and convenient options in other areas of the supermarket,” said Little Dish CEO Dean Brown.
“Our frozen range gives families an affordable way to stock their freezer,” Brown added.
The frozen meals, paired with Little Dish’s Superstars chicken nuggets with “hidden” cauliflower, which launched in April, unlocked a new distribution channel into foodservice, which was “in desperate need of healthier choices for kids,” it said.
“This is not only an exciting business development, but a critical step towards helping other businesses make progress on their health agenda,” said Brown.
