Malibu is to launch a new range of 10% abv ready-to-drink cocktails.
Called Punch, the NPD had been “created for higher-energy social occasions, from pre-drinks and house parties to festivals and spontaneous get-togethers”, said Malibu.
Cans in Watermelon, Peach Tea and Piña Colada have rolled out across grocery, convenience and wholesale (rsp: £3.50/237ml). They will sit alongside Malibu’s existing 5% abv pre-mix range.
Watermelon Punch offered “a refreshing, sparkling blend of juicy watermelon flavour balanced with vibrant citrus notes of lemon and lime”, according to Malibu.
Peach Tea Punch combined “juicy peach flavours with subtle notes of delicate black tea”, while Piña Colada Punch blended “smooth creamy coconut and juicy caramelised pineapple flavours”.
“Malibu is already a ready-to-drink super brand in the UK, having helped to establish the category more than a decade ago,” said Liam Murphy, marketing director at Pernod Ricard UK. “The onus is on us to innovate and deliver against evolving consumer trends.
“Malibu Punch is a bold 10% abv proposition created specifically for pre-drinks, parties and spontaneous get-togethers. With three distinctive flavours and significant investment behind the launch, we believe Malibu Punch can recruit a new generation of adult consumers, build on Malibu’s distinct credentials and bring further excitement and value to the fast-growing RTD category.”
The launch comes with ready-to-drink cocktails bucking wider declines seen across spirits. Value sales are up 9.3% to £772.9m on volumes up 13.5% [NIQ 52 w/e 18 April 2026], set against a spirits category that has shrunk 2%, on volumes down 3.8% [NIQ 52 w/e 2 May 2026].
