Sales of M&S’s low & no range have soared 40% over the past two years

M&S has unveiled more than 100 new beverages as part of its “biggest ever” festive drinks selection.

The retailer has doubled its low & no offering, adding nearly 40 lines including Clementine & Cranberry Bucks Fizz (rsp: £4/75cl), Let It Sloe Fizz (rsp: £4/75cl) and Rosé Mulled Wine (rsp: £4.50/75cl).

M&S has also added 14 English wines, taking its range to more than 30, in what it described as its “biggest commitment yet” to the category.

To meet growing demand for at-home entertaining, M&S has also expanded its Marksologist range of pre-mxed cocktails with Vodka Martini, Negroni and Old Fashioned (rsp: £20/50cl).

It has also claimed a high street “first” with the launch of a Decaf Madagascan Vanilla Espresso Martini canned cocktail (rsp: £3.50/150ml).

Also for Christmas 2026, the retailer has added a selection of cocktail bar-inspired spirits and liqueurs, including Chocolate & Clementine Irish Cream Liqueur (rsp: £15/50cl), Passion Fruit Liqueur (rsp: £13/50cl) and Triple Sec Liqueur (rsp: £18/50cl).

Rounding out the range are miniature gift trios in Irish Cream Liqueur (rsp: £10/3x5cl) and Kenmore Single Malt Scotch Whisky (rsp: £12/3x5cl).

Drinking trends for Christmas 2026

The festive push coincides with the publication of M&S’s first Drinks Trends Report, which outlines how Brits will be drinking and entertaining over the Christmas period.

M&S’s research found almost two-thirds of consumers were more likely to choose alcohol-free options at Christmas or new year than they were five years ago. Sales of the retailer’s low & no range had soared 40% over the past two years, the retailer claimed.

English sparkling wine was outperforming cava, with sales of its English fizz up 32% year on year, said M&S. The majority of its shoppers said they were more likely to buy English wine than they were five years ago, while one in five believed English wines now rival bottles from around the world, the research found.

“Drinks are no longer just something that accompanies the festive food – they now play a much bigger role in how people celebrate, entertain, gift and connect with friends and family throughout the season,” said Caroline Thompson-Hill, head of beers, wines & spirits at M&S Food.

“What we’re seeing through our Drinks Trends Report is that shoppers want quality, convenience and choice in equal measure, while keeping that wow factor.

“Whether it’s exploring English wines, creating bar-quality cocktails at home or alternating between alcoholic and alcohol-free drinks, they want every drink to feel as considered as the occasion itself,” Thompson-Hill added.

M&S has also added its fine wine range to its Christmas Food to Order service for the first time, to “make it easier than ever to pick out a truly special bottle”.
