M&S has appointed former Asda senior strategy manager Matt Featherstone as its new head of business improvement in the M&S Food operations team.
Featherstone spent 27 years at Asda, most recently as senior manager for strategy and transformation.
He will be accountable for delivering M&S Food’s transformation through innovation and technology, according to the retailer.
As part of his induction, he has already spent the past couple of months working in M&S stores to get to know the business intimately at ground level, a standard procedure for new M&S senior hires.
He joined M&S from Asda in March, according to his LinkedIn profile.
M&S said he brought a wealth of operational and transformation experience from his time at the supermarket.
His appointment is the latest in a number in the M&S Food leadership team, with Andrew Hicks joining on 1 September as marketing director and Kevin Bennett having recently taken the role of food logistics director and Gist CEO, in previously announced moves.
