Medina Foodservice has expanded its range with the launch of 250 new products, including locally sourced items, own-label lines and national brands.
In boosting local producers, Medina has become the first wholesaler for the Isle of Wight’s Homemade Brownie Company, which will now have access to a range of new customers.
Medina has been serving foodservice businesses across the Isle of Wight and the south coast for more than 50 years.
In 2019, the wholesaler was purchased by US foodservice giant Sysco, which is the parent company of Brakes. Medina said this opened up new opportunities, providing it with access to Sysco’s own-label range and allowing it to compete with larger national operators on range and price.
"Medina has always been known for its exceptional service, and we’ve now expanded our range by adding a market-leading own brand to our comprehensive portfolio,” said Medina Foodservice MD Neil Williams.
"Customers can now access the Sysco foodservice brand, which is recognised across the world, alongside products that were born on the Isle of Wight. It's this balance of national range and value and local pride that makes Medina unique."
Medina operates out of two sites. One is based in Millbrook, Southampton, serving customers across Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and surrounding areas. The other is in Newport on the Isle of Wight.
