PepsiCo has added Gingerbread Doritos ahead of Christmas.
The “totally unique” limited-edition snacks (rsp: £2.50/180g) combine Doritos’ classic crunch with the “warming, spiced” flavour of gingerbread.
They will roll into all major retailers on 6 October and were positioned to disrupt the category and create intrigue and excitement, helping to drive impulse purchases among shoppers, according to PepsiCo.
Two new Walkers multipacks (rsp: £2.15/five) – Emmental Cheese and Beef Wellington – will also hit shelves, and Sensations Honey Glazed Ham sharing bags (rsp: £2.50/150g) will return for a second year.
The limited-time offerings will be packaged in festive wrappers, as will selected products in the core Walkers, Sensations, Doritos and Wotsits Giants ranges.
“Christmas is a time of togetherness and joy – and our festive snack range is designed to reflect just that,” said PepsiCo marketing director Rob Pothier.
“We’re excited to unveil a strong seasonal offering that not only taps into consumer demand for special flavours and formats but also supports retailers in maximising sales during the festive period.
“With bold new flavours like Doritos Gingerbread, Walkers Emmental Cheese and Walkers Beef Wellington – which we expect to stir up conversations and intrigue with an unexpected seasonal twist – and festive pack designs, we’re helping consumers make every moment of the season a little more joyful.”
