Sales at juice shot brand Moju have shot up by almost a third, buoyed by growing demand for functional foods.

Revenues at Moju climbed by 32.9% to £22.8m in the year ended 30 June 2025, newly filed accounts at Companies House show. Gross profit, meanwhile, grew by £2.6m to £11.6m, despite Moju’s profit margin falling from 52.3% to 50.7%.

However, there were significant drops in both operating profits and pre-tax profits (–75.7% and –98.5% respectively). As a result, Moju swung from a £6m profit after tax in the year to June 2024 to a £70k loss in the year to last June.

The decline in operating profits was driven by a large drop in “other operating income” as Moju lapped the impact of the decision to zero-rate juice shots for VAT purposes, and invested in marketing and growing its team. Administrative expenses shot up by 42.9% to £9.9m, with staff costs climbing 49.3% to £1.1m.

Meanwhile, the decline in pre-tax profits was attributed to a £1.4m hit from the early redemption of convertible loan notes using available company funds. This was “a one-off financial decision that does not reflect the underlying performance of the business”, Moju said.

Excluding these non-recurring items, profits before tax were “broadly consistent year on year”, it added.

“2025 was another great year for Moju, with the business growing revenues by 30-plus per cent year on year, reinforcing our position as the UK’s leading functional shots brand,” Moju co-founder and CEO Rich Goldman said. “The business continued to innovate and deliver products to meet demand from increasingly health-conscious consumers looking for convenient, and naturally functional foods to support their daily wellbeing.

“We strive for sustainable growth and always in line with our mission – from sourcing the highest-quality ingredients, building and developing an industry-leading team and supporting our local and wider Moju community.

“Looking ahead, Moju is focused on continuing to lead and invest in the growth of the functional shots category towards £150m, with continued strong revenue growth and profitability as consumer demand for convenient, naturally functional foods accelerate.”

Moju was founded by Goldsmith and Charlie Leet-Cook in 2015. It produces a range of 60ml juice shots and 420ml dosing bottles made from real fruit juice and other natural ingredients.

Its products are stocked in retailers including Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Waitrose.
