
Morrisons has launched its own branded pet and home insurance, marking its first move into financial services.
The offers have been launched in partnership with the Hood Group, and are available to customers via Morrisons.com.
Morrisons Pet Insurance offers members three levels of lifetime cover, with plans for £2,500, £5,000 and £10,000 per year. The services also include a 24/7 vet assistance helpline. It is underwritten by Burns and Wilcox Global Solutions Limited for and on behalf of Accredited Insurance.
Similarly, Morrisons Travel Insurance also offers three tiers of cover. It is underwritten by AXA.
Morrisons is also using the launch to enhance its loyalty proposition. More Card holders will gain access to exclusive rewards when purchasing policies directly. It includes up to 20,000 More Points on every pet insurance policy, as well as a 10% discount on travel insurance. They’ll be able to put their points towards Morrisons’ Fivers programme.
“With the launch of Morrisons Insurance, we’re giving customers access to trusted pet and travel cover while rewarding them through our popular More Card with points and exclusive discounts,” said James Winter, Morrisons director of procurement.
“With a simple click of a button, customers can purchase their policy from our trusted and regulated partners and enjoy the rewards that come with it. These new services are designed to make life a little easier by offering simple, good-value options in areas that really matter to our customers.”
It’s the latest expansion of Morrisons’ service offer beyond traditional grocery following the launch of Morrisons Travel in January.
