Japan’s second-largest c-store chain, Lawson, has reported sales for the six months to August up 2.4% to Y128.5bn ($1.2bn). Operating profit increased by 10.2% to Y23.2bn ($0.2bn) and net profit was Y11.3bn ($0.1bn), 10.9% up on a year earlier.
The company plans to open 172 more stores in the second half, and it has already opened 88 new stores since the start of 2004.
