Nomad Foods UK & Ireland GM Shaun Smith is to leave the business at the end of 2025.
Smith has been at the company for 17 years, joining as a business manager for Aunt Bessie’s in 2008 and working his way up the ranks in various sales and commercial roles.
Smith stepped up to the role of UK & Ireland GM in March 2023.
“After 17 incredible years, I’ve decided to close this amazing chapter of my career,” Smith posted to LinkedIn last week.
“At the end of the year, I’ll be moving on from my role as UK & Ireland GM for Nomad Foods.
“It’s been quite a journey and one I’ll always be truly grateful for,” wrote Smith, adding: “I’ve had so many positive experiences.”
Smith did not disclose whether he had been offered a role at another company. He simply wrote: “I’ll now be spending some precious time with those who inspire me most – my wife and two daughters, before starting the next chapter of the story.”
Nomad Foods is yet to announce Smith’s successor. A spokesman for the company said: “Shaun has made a significant contribution to our business, and to the wider frozen food industry, and we’re grateful for his time, energy and expertise.”
It comes after Nomad Foods announced it had appointed Dominic Brisby as CEO-elect earlier this month, as Stéfan Descheemaeker prepares for retirement.
Effective 3 November, Brisby will join the company’s board of directors, working with Descheemaeker for a transition period until his retirement on 1 January 2026, when Brisby will formally take up the role.
