Damm Old Speckled Hen ZERO lifestyle

The NPD promises to deliver Old Speckled Hen’s ‘signature malty taste with hints of caramel and fruit’

Old Speckled Hen has extended into alcohol-free, adding 0% abv Old Speckled Hen Zero to its roster.

Promising to deliver Old Speckled Hen’s “signature malty taste with hints of caramel and fruit”, the NPD has rolled out in 500ml bottle (rsp: £2) and 4x440ml can (rsp: £5.50) formats. Bottles will be stocked in Morrisons stores, with cans and bottles available via Asda stores.

Old Speckled Hen Zero had been introduced to tap growing demand for low & no-alcohol products, said Damm UK. A record 91% of drinkers were moderating their alcohol intake, up from 87% in 2025, it said, citing Drinkaware figures.

“We know that consumer drinking behaviour is now tailored around occasions and the launch of Old Speckled Hen Zero reflects that,” said Luke White, MD at Damm UK. “Whatever the reason for moderating, we believe that this 0.0% traditional ale is going to become a national favourite.”

The launch represents the first major NPD by Old Speckled Hen since the brand was acquired by Damm UK from Greene King in May.

Damm UK has also since struck a deal to acquire a stake in Dalston’s Soda, as it looks to diversify beyond lager in the UK.
