Avocado oil brand Omega Pressery has won the backing of seasoned fmcg investor Giles Brook as it expands retail listings and pushes into foodservice.
The Grocer Gold winner will use the six-figure investment, alongside leveraging Brook’s supply chain experience from his days as European CEO at Vita Coco, to support its retail, DTC and international growth strategy.
Brook, who counts the likes of Pip & Nut, Bio&Me, Freja and Dalston’s in his investment portfolio, joins Omega Pressery in an advisory position.
Omega Pressery co-founder Nikita Dawda said the backing came at a crucial inflection point for the business, which has grown tenfold year on year and is on track to surpass £1m in annual recurring revenues before the end of 2026.
The brand also launched two SKUs in Ocado this week, with two more to follow. Omega Pressery is set to go live this month with foodservice distributors Vegetarian Express and Classic Fine Foods to give professional kitchens access to its larger formats and bring an alternative to seed oil into commercial spaces.
“With new listings including Ocado and Oddbox, alongside growing momentum with retailers such as Waitrose, we’re at a pivotal point in the business,” Dawda said.
“We were therefore very deliberate about who we wanted alongside us. Giles’ extensive experience with Vita Coco and the coconut value chain is particularly relevant to us as we navigate the complexities of a responsible, fully traceable avocado supply chain from East Africa.”
Brook added: “Omega Pressery is one of the most exciting businesses I’ve seen in recent years, and I’m delighted to be joining Niki and [co-founder] Niheer for the journey ahead. From our very first conversations, I was struck by the clarity of their vision and their entrepreneurial ambition.
“They are building a business with genuine purpose and integrity, creating a truly differentiated brand while developing a supply chain that sets a new standard for the avocado category. Omega Pressery has all the ingredients to become a category-defining business.”
Dawda launched Omega Pressery with co-founder Niheer Shah in 2024. The husband-and-wife team are building a traceable avocado value chain out of East Africa, working with farmers in Kenya and Uganda to source grade B “wonky” avocados and working with pressing partners in the region to produce avocado oil.

It has scaled from about 50 distribution points at launch to more than 900 today, including Ocado, Waitrose, Fortnum & Mason and Planet Organic, as well as independents through distributors CLP and Diverse Fine Foods.
The brand supplies 10 avocado oil SKUs across extra virgin, light, organic and spray formats.
Internationally, Omega Pressery has also secured a presence in Kenyan retailers and will soon be active on Amazon EU, with the investment from Brook providing the foundations for further expansion across the UK, African and European markets.
Omega Pressery took home the Startup of the Year prize at this year’s Grocer Gold Awards in July.
The new investment in Omega Pressery comes as growth in the UK avocado oil category continues to gain momentum. NIQ data shows the category, which remains small compared to the wider oil market, grew 28% year on year between April 2024 and April 2026.
“Our ambition is to become the home of all things avocado,” Dawda said. “By doubling down on one value chain, we’re building a stronger, more resilient supply chain alongside a growing pipeline of value-added avocado products. Giles understands what it takes to build a category, not just a brand, and his experience and belief in what we’re building make him an incredibly valuable partner. Ultimately, when retailers think of avocado oil, we want them to think of Omega Pressery. That’s the goal.”
