The system identifies 94% of offenders unknown to individual operators

Penny Petroleum has launched a six-site trial of Forecourt Eye’s fuel crime prevention and debt recovery platform.

The technology combines automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), crime prevention, digital debt recovery, and real-time EPoS connectivity, giving Penny Petroleum a single system to tackle fuel theft, margin erosion, and regulatory compliance.

Forecourt Eye said the trial represented one of the most thorough tests of forecourt security and loss-prevention technology in the UK fuel retail sector. Discussions are underway for a nationwide rollout across Penny Petroleum’s 99-strong estate.

The company added the system identifies 94% of offenders unknown to individual operators, and its debt recovery technology typically returns five to 10 times the value of the investment.

As well as crime prevention, the platform supports critical operational needs including audit trail compliance, recovering revenue from previously unreported incidents, and contributing offender intelligence back into the national database.

“With coverage across almost 22% of UK fuel sites and a decade of operational data, we’ve built what is now widely recognised as the most comprehensive crime prevention and loss-recovery platform available to the sector,” said Forecourt Eye MD Michelle Henchoz.

“This trial will demonstrate how that capability translates into measurable operational and financial impact.”

Penny Petroleum COO Tony Jackson added: “We take our responsibility to protect our business, staff and customers extremely seriously. This trial allows us to evaluate the platform under real-world conditions and measure its impact on crime prevention, compliance, and revenue protection.”
