Pimentae Tequila Espresso Martini

The 14.5% abv tipple promises ‘intense notes of freshly brewed espresso, smooth tequila, dark chocolate and caramel’

Pimentae has added a ready-to-drink espresso martini made with tequila.

The brand’s Tequila Espresso Martini (rsp: £4.25/125ml) has rolled out in Morrisons stores, coinciding with the retailer also listing its Spicy Margarita and Grapefruit Margarita SKUs.

The NPD combines Mexican tequila, espresso coffee and coffee liqueur, resulting in an RTD serve with “intense notes of freshly brewed espresso, smooth tequila, dark chocolate and caramel, balanced with subtle sweetness and a rich, velvety finish”.

It comes as Pimentae looks to continue to expand in retail. The brand, founded by friends Alice Parmiter and Wynter Karo, is now listed with Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Morrisons, Tesco Ireland, Co-op and Ocado.

Pimentae recently closed a funding round on Crowdcube, after raising £223k from over 200 investors. The brand secured a further £823k from other external sources, taking the total amount raised past £1m. It also raised a further £1.5m earlier this year.

The brand said it planned to use the cash injection to expand its sales team across grocery and wholesale, accelerate distribution and support major grocery launches.

In June, Pimentae teamed up with Mexican agave spirit producer Ojo de Dios Mezcal to debut Spicy Mezcal Maragrita, a 14.5% abv mezcal-based canned cocktail.

The NPD (rsp: £4.25/150ml) is available in selected Waitrose and Co-op stores.
