Farmers' City Market, the new supermarket supplied directly by farmers, could open a second store as early as August .

The company, set up by three businessmen in November, said it was evaluating new and existing developments, most within the M25 area.

Its first store, in London's Hampton Hill, is expected to be fully operational at the end of this month.

The opening of the farmers' market-style c-store had been delayed because of difficulties sourcing certain local and seasonal lines, admitted director Jana Satchi.

"We want everything local or seasonal but this is not totally possible in today's market," he said .

"We don't mind running out of things, but when we have a product we need it in depth," he added. "That said, availability issues have now been sorted out."
