Skittles is set to roll out Flavour Flip dual-flavoured candies, available from next month.
Flavour Flip features sweets in strawberry & watermelon, lemon & raspberry, pomegranate & apple, lime & cherry and mandarin & pineapple flavours. All are classic Skittles ‘lentils’ comprising a fruity, crisp shell and a soft, chewy centre.
Packed in pouch (rsp: £1.10/136g) and treat (rsp: £1/109g) formats, the launch was aimed at recruiting younger adult shoppers with a “shareworthy, multi-sensory taste experience”, said Skittles supplier Mars Wrigley.
The flavour combinations were in response to Mintel research that showed 53% of UK consumers sought unusual flavours to “enhance the moment”, Mars added. NPD was driving 64% of category growth, creating a “significant opportunity” to boost penetration [NIQ 52 w/e 13 March 2026].
Fruity confectionery delivered the “highest dwell time among shoppers seeking novelty sweets”, said Emily Owen, senior brand manager at Mars Wrigley.
“This launch is all about flipping ordinary moments into a share-worthy experience with the twice the flavour in every chew. Our latest innovation invites consumers to taste the new Skittles rainbow with pack formats designed for sharing occasions – from the big night in to grab-and-go socialising.”
Flavour Flip’s launch will be supported by the summer campaign ‘Flip Your Tastebuds Inside Out’.
