Snappy Technologies has launched a new service that allows retailers to consolidate and manage orders with various delivery partners under one system.
The technology, called Snappy Order Aggregation (OA), aims to help retailers manage and control orders, inventory and pricing across multiple online delivery marketplaces, such as Just Eat, Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Foodhub and Snappy Shopper.
It is also designed to standardise promotions across each platform through a centralised control function. The technology removed the need for manual uploads, thereby saving “hours of operational effort each week while ensuring consistent, real-time execution across all marketplaces”, Snappy Technologies said.
Snappy Technologies – part of Snappy Group, which also owns Snappy Shopper – is now available to the convenience sector after an initial trial with Southern Co-op and Heart of England Co-op last year.
Both regional societies said they saw incremental growth across all delivery partners during the pilot period, as well as better operational efficiencies such as faster deliveries and more accurate stock reporting.
“This is a huge milestone in our industry,” said Snappy Technologies CEO Mike Callachan. “Retailers of all sizes offering online delivery are now able to connect into more channels and access more customers. It’s a win-win.
“Our team has worked closely with marketplaces, EPoS partners, last-mile operators and two pioneer retailers in Southern Co-op, and Heart of England Co-op.
“These collaborations have enabled us to deliver a fantastic solution that not only saves retailers time and money, but it also allows them to provide a better experience for their customers with faster deliveries and more accurate stock meaning less substitutions.”
Southern Co-op commercial director Nick Smith said: This is an exciting phase of our QComm Delivery expansion, giving our members choice in the way in which they order with us.
“In just five months, we’ve had triple-digit growth to our gross merchandise value by extending into more marketplaces and implementing efficient in-store processes to meet demand.
“Snappy’s tech and support has enabled us to fulfil more orders and solve operational and technical issues as and when they occur, which means we fix fast and maximise on our investment in OA.”
Heart of England Co-op CEO Steve Browne added: “Security and accuracy in order reconciliation across multiple channels is critical for us, and Snappy OA delivers that. By harnessing our existing EPoS investments, we’ve been able to simplify in-store processes, significantly reduce substitutions, and control our multichannel pricing strategy.
“Our long-standing relationship with Snappy has been built on reliability, innovation, and exceptional support. As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue this growth journey with Snappy Technologies, including the launch of our own white-label service.”
Last week, Iceland announced it had entered into an agreement with StrongPoint to implement an order picking solution that aggregates orders from delivery apps and online marketplaces into a single app and device.
