Stock Spirits Group has hired Steven Libermann to be its new CEO, effective 1 December.
Libermann will join Stock Spirits Group from Nomad Foods, where he is currently group executive president and a member of the executive committee.
He replaces Jean-Christophe Coutures, who is to stand down after a near three-and-a-half year stint at the end of November.
Coutures’ was departing “for family reasons”, Stock Spirits Group said.
Libermann joined Nomad Foods in 2015 via the frozen food firm’s acquisition of Findus.
Since then, he had held senior roles including CEO of southern Europe, managing director of western Europe, southern Europe and head of global sales, Stock Spirits said.
In 2023, his remit was expanded to cover France, Belgium, the Netherlands, southern Europe, and the UK and Ireland, before he was moved to a group-level role in 2024.
Stock Spirits chairman Luis Bach said: “We are pleased to appoint Steven as group CEO. He brings an international perspective, a strong consumer focus, and a record of disciplined delivery. He will build on the platform established in recent years and accelerate our transformation strategy with an emphasis on empowerment, execution and sustainable growth.”
Libermann added, “It is a privilege to join a business with deep local roots and real European reach. Stock Spirits has the right brands and markets, underpinned by a robust financial platform. My immediate focus will be meeting our teams, listening to our customers and partners, and aligning on the actions that will deliver our shared vision of Stock Spirits as a European leader in spirits.”
Headquartered in Warsaw, Poland, Stock Spirits portfolio of brands includes Sierra Tequila, the UK’s bestselling tequila in the off-trade, as well as Clan Campbell whisky and regional European spirits including the Amundsen and Keglevich vodkas, aperitif Limoncè Aperitivo and herbal bitters brand Fernet.
In April it acquired The Drinks Company, an independent spirits importer and distributor previously responsible for Sierra in the UK.
