Crisps manufacturer Tayto Group has appointed former Yodel boss Mike Hancox as CEO.
Hancox will join the business in January, taking over from Fergal McCann, who will retire after 13 years with the business.
Hancox is an experienced CEO having led businesses in the food manufacturing, retail and logistics sectors, as well as holding non-executive board roles in technology, infrastructure and licensing companies.
Most recently, Hancox spent six years as CEO of parcel delivery company Yodel.
“I’d like to thank Fergal for his substantial contribution to our growth and success over the past 13 years,” said Tayto Group executive chairman Stephen Hutchinson.
“I’m delighted to welcome Mike to Tayto, bringing with him a wealth of experience leading similar businesses to deliver outstanding results.
“We look forward to him joining the business and building on the strong foundations that we have in place.”
Hancox added: “I am excited to be joining Tayto Group and helping to unlock the potential of its products and brands.
“Tayto is a successful business with a very solid base on which to grow, and I can’t wait to get started.”
The company was founded in 1956 and still manufactures its namesake Tayto crisps in Tandragee Castle, Northern Ireland.
Today, Tayto Group’s portfolio also includes Golden Wonder, Real Hand Cooked Crisps, Mr Porky, Midland Snacks, Real Pork Co and Marmite snacks.
It manufactures over five million packs of crisps a day across five UK sites and employs 1,600 people.
