Tesco has overhauled its range of chilled ready meals, adding a swathe of premium own-label options alongside branded lines from the likes of Bosh, Itsu and Squeaky Bean.
The grocer has teamed up with Bakkavor to launch the Finest Indian Banquet range comprising three mains such as such as Butter Chicken (£4.75/400g) and four sides including Paneer Makhani Samosa and Slow Cooked Black Dahl (from £2.50).
Tesco has also launched Chef’s Collection, a 12-strong own label range of meaty centrepieces inspired by Italian, British and Indian cuisines, as part of its posh Finest tier.
Dishes include Spiced Lamb Shanks, Blush Double Pork Chop and ’Nduja Stuffed Porchetta (from £17.50).
Meanwhile, Calorie Controlled risotto meals Mushroom and Chicken & Sunblush Tomato (£3.50/380g) have joined Tesco’s core own-label lineup.
Branded meals
Across brands, Tesco has listed new meals from Bosh, Squeaky Bean and Itsu.
Bosh’s eight new vegan meals include Goan Chickpea Curry, Creamy Mac & Greens and Spicy No-Duja Pizza (rsps: from £3.95).
Squeaky Bean’s two new plant-based pies, Braised Veggie and Spanish Chorizo Style (rsp: £3.75/209g), have also hit Tesco chillers.
Meanwhile, Itsu has debuted a six-strong lineup featuring the likes of Katsu Chicken Brown Rice, Korean-Style Spicy Pork Noodles and Chicken Pad Thai Noodles (rsp: £6/370g-395g).
Tesco has also expanded its selection of Charlie Bigham’s meals to include Chilli Con Carne 420g (rsp: £6.50), Shepherd’s Pie 325g (rsp: £6.50) and Calabrian Chicken 750g (rsp: £9.95).
“We are excited to bring new and improved options to our chilled meals range this autumn,” said a Tesco spokeswoman, highlighting the addition of “exciting new brands”.
