The Finest Just X Ingredients range has been made in response to rising consumer demand for products made with fewer ingredients

Tesco has announced the launch of a range of meat products made with fewer ingredients.

The Finest Just X Ingredients range has been made in response to rising consumer demand for products made with fewer ingredients.

It includes Just 3 Ingredients British Beef Burgers (rsp: £4.50), Just 3 Ingredients Beef Meatballs (rsp: £4.95), Just 6 Ingredients British Pork Sausages (rsp: £3.30) and Just 6 Ingredients Pork Chipolatas (rsp: £3.30).

The range has been made using “simple recipes with ingredients customers know and recognise, delivering great flavour with no added preservatives”.

It is available online, in over 340 large stores and Tesco Express stores.

It follows the successful launch by M&S of its Only… Ingredients range last year, which includes meat lines along with products in other categories.

“Great taste remains one of the most important things our customers look for when choosing food for themselves and their families,” said Richard Wood, Tesco meat, fish, poultry, eggs and dairy director. “Our new Tesco Finest Just X Ingredients range offers customers some of their favourite food staples with simple, recognisable ingredients and plenty of flavour, starting with our burgers, sausages, chipolatas and meatballs.”

He added that customers were “increasingly interested in understanding what’s in the food they buy”.

“This range provides more choice for those looking for products made with ingredients they recognise,” he said.

Tesco also announced a range of Finest Scottish wild venison into stores across the UK.

The new Tesco Finest Venison range includes Red Venison Fillet (rsp: £18/kg), Roe Venison Leg (rsp: £23.40-£41.40), Red Venison Haunch Steaks (rsp: £7.75/250g) and Christmas Special Loin & Bacon (rsp: £50).

“As the largest customer of Scottish agriculture, we’re proud to play an important role in supporting the farmers, growers, producers and suppliers who work tirelessly to produce some of the finest produce in the world,” said Wood. “With the launch of this new range, customers across the UK will be able to enjoy great-quality wild Scottish venison at home, whether that’s tucking into a venison steak on date night, or wowing guests for Sunday lunch.”

The range is supplied by Highland Game and will be sold across 100 stores in the UK. The launch also supports the creation of 12 new jobs at the supplier.

“As more customers seek naturally nutritious, minimally processed and high-quality food, premium wild venison is well placed to meet those changing preferences through its outstanding provenance, flavour and nutritional credentials,” said Euan Ross, retail sales director at Highland Game.
