Tesco is to roll out its Aldi Price Match scheme to more than 2,000 Express convenience stores, it announced today.
The supermarket giant said the move was the biggest expansion of the Aldi Price Match scheme since its launch in May 2020, and meant shoppers across the UK could now get better value as well as convenience.
Previously APM has only been available in Tesco’s supermarket estate, and the move means its convenience stores will offer more than 200 products in the scheme. APM will run alongside Tesco’s other key pricing lever Clubcard Prices in convenience. The UK’s biggest retailer introduced Clubcard Prices to its Express stores in 2021.
It said the range of products included in the APM would vary by store, dependent on store size and location. Products included will display an Aldi Price Match logo at the shelf edge, so customers can see which are matched.
“We know household budgets are again under pressure, but we are committed to keeping the cost of the weekly food shop affordable for Tesco customers,” said Tesco CEO Ashwin Prasad.
“By extending our Aldi Price Match scheme to Express stores we can now give customers the confidence that they can get great prices on a range of everyday products at Tesco, whether that’s in our large stores, online or in more than 2,000 of our local convenience stores.”
Aldi Price Match schemes are becoming increasingly common in convenience stores in the UK. Sainsbury’s extended its APM to its 800 Local stores in November 2024. Like Tesco, it also runs APM across 200 lines in these stores. Meanwhile Co-op brought in its Aldi Price Match, covering 100 lines across its 2,400 stores, in March 2025.
