Tesco has recalled one of its vegan party food lines as it contains undeclared milk.

The affected product is 6 Aubergine Katsu Bao Buns 258g. All use-by dates up to and including 13 December 2025 are impacted.

In a point-of-sale notice, Tesco has urged shoppers with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents to return it to any store for a full refund. No receipt is required.

For further enquiries, they should visit the Contact page of its website.

“No other Tesco products are affected by this recall,” the retailer stated. “We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

According to the Food Standards Agency, Tesco has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

This isn’t the first time Tesco has recalled one of its Christmas lines over food safety concerns.

In 2023, it recalled a batch of private-label stuffing mix over fears it may contain moths.

Last week, Aldi recalled Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks 90g packs over fears they may contain peanuts.

Meanwhile, snack manufacturer Calbee recalled two of its crisps variants, which contain undeclared allergens.

The affected products are Calbee Hot & Spicy Chips, which contains mustard, and Calbee Pizza Chips, which contains celery – neither of which are mentioned on the labels.
