Flood Gates
Final installment of the Gareth Gates specials, published by BBC Magazines, goes on sale on December 12. The Official Pop Pack has a cover price of £3.99 and includes a 2002 Souvenir magazine, free writing set, gel pen, giant poster, sticker sheet and badge, all in a glossy folder. The cover price is £3.99 and distribution is by Frontline.

Free publishing tools
PC Format is giving away a complete desktop publishing suite worth £59 on a covermount with its Christmas issue on sale on December 5. The magazine will include a tutorial on the software. PC Format is published by Future and the issue is covermounted with either two CD-ROMs (£5.99) or one DVD (£6.49). Distribution is by Seymour.

Bumper giveaway
Men's magazine Maxim is covermounting a specially created comedy DVD with its Christmas issue, on sale at the end of November. The issue also has free readers' facemasks of two characters from hit comedy show The Office, as well as offering every reader a free bottle of beer.

Tone raised
Young girls' magazine Shout is giving away a free mobile phone holder as a covermount with issue 257, which goes on sale on December 27, followed by a free bottle of nail varnish with the following issue that goes on sale on January 10.

PR drive
Dennis Publishing, which publishes titles such as Evo, Shape, Auto Express and Maxim, has shaken up the PR for its range of consumer titles with the aim of developing the core brands in the consumer division. The changes include the creation of an in-house PR team.

What name?
What Video & TV magazine will be changing its name to What Video Widescreen Entertainment from the January issue, on sale December 5 and distributed by Comag.
