This has relaunched its Super Superfood Block and Super Superfood Multigrain Breaded Pieces to make the range more “desirable, intuitive and useful”.
The newly named Extra Firm Mushroom “Tofu” (rsp: £2.95/200g) and Crunchy Mushroom Bites (rsp: £2.95/160g) have been designed to “tap into the growing consumer shift toward whole-food, ingredient-led eating”.
This said many meat reducers skip meat without replacing the protein, which highlights a “need for simple and familiar products that offer both flavour and function”.
The “Tofu” has also been reformulated to deliver better texture and taste, the brand said.
It has higher protein than average tofu and the block is also high in fibre, with 6g compared to the 1.9g of fibre typically found in tofu.
It can be cubed, sliced or grated and can be used in stir-fries, ragu, curries, wraps or grain bowls, “making it a versatile base for meat-free meals that don’t compromise on flavour or texture”.
The Super Superfood Multigrain Breaded Pieces have also been renamed to Crunchy Mushroom Bites (rsp: £2.95/160g) but the ingredient list has remained the same.
The Crunchy Bites are “protein-packed, umami-rich and coated in a nutritious multigrain layer of oats and quinoa”.
The brand said they could be used as an alternative to falafels or in dishes like salads, wraps or dipping platters.
“We’ve listened closely to our customers and the data, and completely refreshed our whole-food range to make it more desirable, intuitive, and useful,” said Mark Cuddigan, CEO of This. “Our new Mushroom ‘Tofu’ and Crunchy Mushroom Bites now feature clear usage cues and recipe inspiration on pack, giving people the confidence to cook with them straight away.”
