Brewer Timothy Taylor is considering extending its Boltmaker bitter into bottles after it was this week crowned Champion Beer of Britain.
The West Yorkshire-brewed ale, which is currently only available on draught, took the top award at London’s Great British Beer Festival, which finished on Saturday (16 August).
The beverage was described as a “well-balanced, genuine Yorkshire bitter, with a full measure of maltiness and hoppy aroma.” Taking it into bottles was “a work in progress,” sales director Grant Simpson told The Grocer this week.
Oakham Ale’s Citra scooped silver, while the bronze award went to Salopian Brewery’s Darwin’s Origin.
