TOMATIN 10 YEAR OLD

The tipple landed in Waitrose and on Amazon on 9 November

Tomatin has continued its expansion in grocery with the launch of a new 10-year-old single malt whisky matured in bourbon casks.

Tomatin 10 Year Old has rolled out in Waitrose stores and launched on Amazon (rsp: £42/70cl). The 40% abv tipple had been “carefully curated to offer a taste of luxury at an affordable and accessible price point”, said Tomatin.

Unlike other whiskies in the Tomatin lineup, Tomatin 10 Year Old has been exclusively matured for a decade in bourbon casks. This ageing process had created a single malt with a “sweet, fruity, buttery” profile, according to the Highland distiller.

It comes after Tomatin launched Double Cask – a non-age-statement single malt created specifically for grocery – earlier this year. Prior to this launch, its whiskies were only stocked in Waitrose and Tesco Scotland stores in mainstream retail.

“Tomatin is going from strength to strength in the grocery and convenience sectors as we further establish the brand in these channels,” said Gordon Hynd, UK sales director at Tomatin.

Tomatin 10 Year Old was “a welcome age-statement addition” that – like Tomatin Double Cask – had been “developed with customer requirements front of mind”, Hynd added.
