Tony’s Chocolonely has expanded its range with three new filled chocolate bars, tapping into rising consumer demand for “multi-texture treats”.
The trio – Gooey Caramel Sea Salt Crunch, Creamy Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch and Creamy Milk Chocolate Ganache – have launched exclusively in Waitrose.
Tony’s said the new Filled range was developed in response to research showing that nearly half of consumers prefer chocolate with added textures such as caramel or nuts, citing data from the National Confectioners Association.
Gooey Caramel Sea Salt Crunch (rsp: £3.85/135g) combines milk chocolate with “gooey caramel, crunchy caramel pieces and sea salt”, according to Tony’s.
Creamy Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch (rsp: £3.85/127g) features “smooth hazelnut praline paired with roasted hazelnuts”.
Creamy Milk Chocolate Ganache (rsp: £3.85/127g) is filled with a ”smooth, creamy chocolate ganache”.
The bars mark Tony’s first foray into filled chocolate and were created for shoppers craving “full‑on indulgence”.
“We’ve been exploring how to make the first-ever filled Tony’s Chocolonely bars for years and we’ve finally cracked it. Designed to recruit even more shoppers into the Tony’s brand and add value into the chocolate bars category,” said Nicola Matthews, head of marketing for Tony’s Chocolonely UK&I.
“And as always with Tony’s, there are no compromises – just irresistibly tasty chocolate with a chunkin’ good mission to end exploitation in cocoa.”
