Waitrose loyalty Little Treats

Waitrose has unveiled its version of the Spotify Wrapped annual review, in which it published key details of the shopping patterns of its MyWaitrose loyalty scheme members.

The supermarket confirmed that its Fairtrade bananas were the most popular product for MyWaitrose customers based on data collected between 1 January and 30 November this year.

The rest of the top five was made up of Essential British Free Range Semi-Skimmed Milk 4 Pints, Essential Cucumber, Essential British Free Range Semi-Skimmed Milk 2 Pints and loose lemons.

Its Essential Waitrose range came out as its most shopped brand, while it claimed a strong performance for its premium Waitrose No.1 and Duchy Organic ranges.

The top five Duchy lines were Fairtrade bananas, carrots, blueberries, Semi-Skimmed Milk 4 pints and British Free Range Eggs Large. The best selling No.1 lines were Strained Natural Greek Yogurt, Red Choice Tomatoes, Speciality Blueberries, Speciality Strawberries and Speciality Raspberries.

Waitrose also highlighted strong take-up of its free Nero Roasting Company coffee loyalty perk. The retailer dispensed an average of 18.8 coffees per MyWaitrose customer over the year. The most popular brew was a latte, followed by cappuccino.

Its £5 lunchtime meal deal, which was introduced in August 2023, has also proved a major success, according to Waitrose. This year its bestselling combo was the GLO Hot Smoked Salmon & Rice Salad, Waitrose Good To Go Mango and Mockingbird Raw Greens Smoothie.

“We’re really proud of the MyWaitrose loyalty scheme – being able to give our customers exciting perks including our new ‘Little Treats’ vouchers and it’s only getting better,” said Waitrose chief customer officer Nathan Ansell.

“With customers continuing to enjoy free coffee and Essential Waitrose crowned their favourite brand, it’s clear that both our perks and our commitment to quality and everyday value are truly resonating. Customers can keep an eye out for their personalised year in review emails dropping today.”
