Walkers Sensations has added two limited-edition crisps flavours for Easter.
Slow-Roasted Lamb & Mint Sauce and Chilli & Cocoa crisps will hit major supermarkets on 16 February, each in a 150g sharing bag (rsp: £2.50).
The former was “one of Sensations’ most requested flavours”, said the brand. Walkers initially rolled out Lamb & Mint crisps as a limited-edition in the 90s. They were relaunched as part of its ‘Bring Me Back’ campaign in 2015 and resurrected again for a limited time in 2018, to coincide with the brand’s 70th anniversary.
Meanwhile, the latter combines “warming spice with subtle sweetness” for a “distinctive, premium taste experience”. Chilli & Cocoa was designed to tap into “emerging consumer trends”, said Walkers.
Crucially, both new Sensations variants are HFSS compliant. They will roll out in Easter-themed pack designs, featuring eggs, bunnies, birds and flowers.
The limited-edition design will also roll out across Thai Sweet Chilli packs.
“Easter continues to be a key moment for savoury snacking as the long bank holiday weekend brings more opportunities for friends and family to celebrate, with shoppers seeking snacks that feel a little more special during these occasions,” said Wayne Newton, senior marketing director at PepsiCo.
“This year, we are giving retailers a mix of excitement and familiarity with the return of an iconic roast-inspired flavour and the launch of Chilli & Cocoa, offering something genuinely different for consumers.”
