Ocado’s shelf-edge supply chain manager, Andrew Eves-Brown, is leaving the company in September to start a new life in Australia.
Eves-Brown is responsible for all aspects of the supply chain for the online venture. He oversees the availability for the webshop and aims to ensure that products reach the picking shelves in time for the orders to be collated.
He also ensures warehouse volumes are sufficient to meet the demands on Ocado’s customer fulfilment centre.
Eves-Brown moved into the food industry eight years ago, becoming logistics manager at desserts manufacturer Matthew Walkers in Derbyshire.
He was promoted to factory manager before joining Ocado, which was then known as Last Mile Solutions, in April 2001 as supply chain manager.
Eves-Brown said: “The future is unknown, but I would definitely not rule out continuing a career in the food industry, especially if it was connected to the internet.”
