Harrods has introduced a food delivery service from its Knightsbridge, West London flagship store.
The luxury department store launched the option this month as its entire store estate has been forced to close due to England’s four-week lockdown.
Customers within a 2.5-mile radius of its Knightsbridge store can choose from 60 products and dishes from Harrods’ food and dining halls to be delivered to their door “within the hour”, or collect their order from the store.
The food hall range is made up of main meals, platters, desserts and boxes of chocolates alongside wine, champagne and non-alcoholic beverages. Shoppers can select either ‘ready to eat’ or ‘ready to heat’ options from its grocery offer or restaurants, with the latter including meals from its pasta bar, the grill, salad bar and fish bar. Dishes from its concessions including Indian restaurant Kama by Vineet, Chinese restaurant Chai Wu and Caviar House will be made available “in the coming weeks”.
Harrods has added the delivery service in partnership with high-end takeaway app Supper.
There is a £7 delivery charge per order and there is no minimum spend.
This comes alongside the food to order and click & collect services Harrods already offers. These require at least 72 hours’ notice.
“Our terracotta palace may be closed, but fear not – we’ve partnered with Supper London to bring you a taste of Harrods at home. There’s French rotisserie poussin, battered haddock and triple-cooked fish, our famous truffle beef Wellington and much, much more,” its website said.
