P&O Nedlloyd Logistics is working with one of the world’s largest wines and spirits companies, Constellation Brands, to manage a new dedicated facility in Adelaide.

The new facility, which is expected to go live in August 2004, will help to distribute wines from Constellation Brands’ Hardy Wine Company.

Gary Hubbard, director for FMCG Beers, Wines & Spirits at PONL Logistics commented: “In an industry which has grown continuously at levels in excess of 20% year on year for over five years, disparate and unconnected supply chains are often a symptom of the sales success.

“We are striving to ensure that our customers benefit from the new and dynamic supply chain solutions we put in place to streamline these activities in support of their growth.”

All the leading wine producers in Australia have been considering methods to develop their supply chains to cope with growing export demands for New World Wine.

The four main producers in this market are Hardy Wine Company (Constellation Brands), Southcorp, Orlando Wyndham (Pernod Ricard) and Berringer Blass (Fosters).
