Andy Foweather has been promoted to European sales director at General Mills.

Foweather moves up from the role of sales director for General Mills UK & Ireland a position he has held for seven years. In his new role, which he takes up on 1 August, he will be responsible for developing sales capability across General Mills' European businesses, which includes brands such as Häagen-Dazs, Old El Paso, Green Giant, Betty Crocker, Nature Valley and Jus-Rol.

He will be replaced at General Mills by Neil Barker, who has joined the company from a consultancy role advising businesses on future strategy. He was also commercial director for Southcorp Wines in Australia and New Zealand at Foster's Wine Estates UK & Ireland, and has also worked for Esso, Mars Confectionery and PepsiCo.

"These appointments build on our sustained success of double-digit growth over the past few years," said Jim Moseley, MD for General Mills UK & Ireland. "They not only signal our ambitious growth plans, but also highlight the global nature of our business, the opportunities within, and the wealth of experience that already exists."

In other moves, Laura Evison has joined General Mills UK & Ireland as FD. She has held senior finance roles in the electronic, automotive and fmcg industries, and replaces Richard Arthurs, who is returning to the US to take up the role of FD for global internal audit. Angela Rye has also joined as legal director. She has previously worked for Cadbury in Australia and the UK.
