She was previously an account director at Jisp for Bestway retailers

Online convenience app Jisp has promoted Esther Lawrence to retail director.

She will be responsible for growing the number of convenience stores on the Jisp platform that trade with its key partners such as Booker, Nisa and Bestway. She will also be looking to recruit new retailers.

Lawrence has been at the company for almost two years. Her previous role was as an account director for Bestway, where she was solely responsible for looking after Jisp retailers within its symbol groups.

There are still account directors for Nisa and Booker who now report into Lawrence. Lawrence will report to Jisp chief customer officer Greg Deacon.

“I’m delighted to support Jisp’s growth strategy across UK retail, working in collaboration with our key partners,” said Lawrence. “Together we will grow stores, users and savings for shoppers at a time where they need it most.”

Deacon added: “Esther brings experience and passion to growing our customer partnerships across UK retail.

“Esther and the team will develop our store growth plan to support our ability to become the number one money-saving and rewards app for convenience retail.”

The promotion comes as Jisp revealed it had saved shoppers a total of £265,000 with its app to date across its convenience store partners nationwide.

The milestone was achieved via its Scan & Save tool, an augmented reality voucher system, which allows customers to access promotional offers tailored to their purchase history. Discounts of up to 60% are redeemable when the product’s barcode is scanned using a mobile phone.

Since its launch in September 2021, Scan & Save has achieved 366,724 scans, with 226,831 vouchers issued and 202,420 redemptions, whereby the shopper buys the product with the voucher.

“We know shoppers are facing increases of over £400 annually in grocery bills,” said Deacon. “However, we are working with brands and retailers to help all fight inflation right now in a sustainable and measurable way.”
