Chilled pizza supplier Stateside Foods has appointed Ruth Simpson as managing director.
Simpson will replace Stateside Foods’ current boss Jon Lucas, who will retire after more than 30 years at the company.
Simpson has more than 25 years’ experience in the food industry, including 23 years at Princes, where she joined as product manager for soft drinks and worked her way up the ranks to chief commercial officer.
As Princes CCO, Simpson’s responsibilities included the commercial management of European business units, transformation projects and integration following a change of ownership.
Simpson will take the reins from Lucas on 1 September.
Together with his management team, Lucas had been “instrumental in transforming the company from a specialised supplier to the UK’s leading manufacturer of chilled pizza products”, said Stateside Foods.
Under his leadership, new production sites were established, technological innovations driven forward and strong trading relationships established, it added.
“I am proud of what we have achieved together and am convinced that Stateside Foods will continue to grow under the new leadership,” said Lucas.
Simpson added: “Stateside Foods is an impressive company with a clear vision and great development.
“It is an honour and I am very much looking forward to working with the management team to continue to shape the future so successfully.”
