RH Amar commercial director Justin Burbage has been promoted to managing director.

Burbage is replacing Rob Amar, who is set to become CEO as he moves to a new strategic role at the family-run distributor.

Burbage has been with RH Amar for seven years. Having joined as sales director, he was promoted to commercial director in September 2021.

“This is an exciting next step for our business and reflects both the growth we have achieved and our ambitions for the future,” said Amar.

“Justin has played a significant role in our success over the past seven years and I’m delighted to see him take on the role of managing director.

“As we embark on our next three-year plan, this new leadership structure will give us the focus and capacity to build on the strong foundations we have created.”

Burbage added: “I’m proud to be taking on the role of managing director at such an exciting time for RH Amar.

“We have great brands, customers and partners, an excellent team and significant investment in our infrastructure. I’m looking forward to delivering our long-term growth ambitions and those of our brand partners and customers.”

Alongside these moves, RH Amar has also added four new members to its operating board. These are sales director Paul Read, heads of brand partnerships Sam Higgins and Anne-Marie Cannon as well as head of people Shrina Mohanlal.

James Amar is adding business development to his remit, becoming CSR & business development director, while Dan Richards has been promoted to head of grocery & e-commerce and Luke Hemming has been promoted to sales manager for wholesale.
