The new site forms part of the wholesaler’s company-owned division

Spar wholesaler James Hall has opened two new company-owned Spar stores in the past four weeks.

Spar Tottington opened two weeks ago near Bury in Lancashire.

The 2,900 sq ft store and Shell forecourt features a butchery counter from local butcher Graham Eyes, a Clayton Park Deli, Spar’s Cheeky Coffee brand and a Tango Ice Blast machine.

“Spar Tottington offers local residents the very best in modern convenience shopping with an extensive range of everyday essentials, delicious food-to-go and signposts and history boards celebrating the local landscape,” said James Hall company-owned stores director Julie McAulay.

The new store follows the opening of Spar Lancaster University at the end of September. The wholesaler refurbished the store, having bought it from an independent Spar retailer who had run it since 1995. James Hall now has 146 company-owned sites, 36 of which are forecourts.
